<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cell shaping unit that can output a cell with high output priority by taking precedence of it over other cells. SOLUTION: The cell shaping unit 100 is provided with a VPI/ priority information identification section 110 that identifies cell output priority, a cell storage buffer 120 that has a storage area for each priority and stores a cell in a corresponding cell on the basis of the priority identified by the VPI/priority information identification section 110, a rate generating section 130 and an output control section 150 provided with a counter counting the number of cells with high priority stored in the cell storage buffer 120 and control cell output timing so that the cell with high priority can be outputted by taking precedence of it over other cells, and a contention control section 140 that arbitrates the output timing when output timings are in contention among different VPs.</p> |
