PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of image quality caused by that an original is variably reduced on a transmitter side, due to the difference of paper sizes and the difference of resolution systems (inch system and millimeter system) between the transmitter side and the receiver side, in the case of transmitting/receiving the original from a transmitter side device capable of reading the original to a receiver side device. SOLUTION: The receiver reports a resolution, except for the recording-out resolution of present equipment to the transmitter side also as receiving ability and performs a conversion into resolution higher than a resolution possible for reception. Afterwards, resolution converting processing is performed for correcting difference of resolutions between transmitting and receiving and recording is performed with the converted comparatively high resolution. Thus, receiving and recording-out can be performed, while suppressing image quality deterioration, in comparison with the case of size converting processing in the state of the low resolution.
