The pot for cooking Chinese herbs comprises a container (10) for the herbs which fits into a heater (20) in which IR heating elements (25) are mounted. A condenser (30) is fitted on to the top of the herb container to condense the medicinal components contained in the steam from the cooking herbs. A handle (26d) fitted to the condenser has a rim which protects it.
