PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternate magnetic field applied water quality improving apparatus in waterworks. SOLUTION: In the alternate magnetic field applied water quality improving apparatus for imarting a change to water quality by arranging permanent magnets so as to generate a magnetic field right-angled or parallel to a water stream, a plurality of the permanent magnets are combined to be arranged on a magnet part so that the same poles of the magnets are opposed to each other through a magnet pole iron core of the same shape to generate an alternate magnetic field and the combined permanent magnets are attached to the cock of a household water pipe. The permanent magnets and the magnetic pole iron core are constituted of a doughnut-shaped combination with a thickness of 1-3 mm and a water stream is passed through the alternate magnetic field generated in the inner periphery of the doughnut-shaped magnet.
