PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane foam having excellent mechanical property, produceable using an ordinary starting material in urethane chemistry and having light stability. SOLUTION: In the method for producing the polyurethane foam by reacting an isocyanate with a compound having at least two hydrogen atoms capable of reacting to an isocyanate group, a (cyclic) aliphatic isocyanate is used as the isocyanate and the reaction is performed in the presence of a substance capable of forming a frame structure in the polyurethane foam.
