SURFACE SIZING AGENT AND RECORDING PAPER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording paper capable of obtaining high-quality image free from blotting by suppressing spreading of ink dot formed by ink drop regardless of being inexpensive. SOLUTION: This surface sizing agent comprises a sizing agent, a bacterial cellulose and an ultrafine fiber-like cellulose derived from a plant and having <=10 μm average diameter and a cationic polymer. This recording paper capable of obtaining high-quality image free from blotting can be obtained at a low cost by carrying out surface sizing onto the surface of base paper mainly composed of fibrous pulp and filler by using the sizing agent of the present invention containing the ultrafine fiber-like cellulose.
