PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a residual bubble in the region of a liquid channel covered with a movable member. SOLUTION: The liquid ejection head comprises a liquid ejection opening 7, a liquid channel 3 communicating with the liquid ejection opening 7, a liquid supply opening 5 communicating with the liquid channel 3 and a common liquid supply chamber 6 for storing liquid supplied to the liquid channel 3, a heater 4 for bubbling liquid filling the liquid channel 3, and a movable member 8 having a projection area larger than the opening area of the liquid supply opening 5 provided in the liquid channel 3 while being supported fixedly through an interval to the liquid supply opening 5 with the ejection opening 7 side serving as free end 8D, wherein the movable member 8 closes to substantially interrupt the liquid supply opening 5 when a bubble is generated by driving the heater 4. An opening H for interconnecting the common liquid supply chamber 6 and the liquid channel 3 is made in the vicinity of a fulcrum 8A on the side opposite to the free end 8D of the movable member 8. |
