PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is to scale down an electrode interconnection structure using a multi-interconnection and maximize an effective area to be used in an actual display. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of transparent electrodes(40,4') and an alignment layer are formed on an upper substrate and a lower substrate. The upper substrate and the lower substrate are attached to each other using a sealant. Liquid crystals are then injected. The transparent electrodes are crossed over each other. A connection terminal(6) of an external driving circuit is mounted on the lower substrate. Multi-interconnections are connected between a pad(40a) of the transparent electrode and a mounting pad(42). The transparent electrode of the lower substrate is used as a segment electrode. The transparent electrode of the upper substrate is used as a common electrode.
