PURPOSE: A 4-electrode type plasma display panel, and a drive method and an apparatus of the same are provided to enhance power reproduction efficiency as well as reduce consumption power and heating amount of the drive apparatus. CONSTITUTION: A front substrate(10) and a rear substrate(13) are separated to oppose each other. Address electrode lines(ARl,...ABm) are arranged to be parallel each other on a front surface of the rear substrate. A first dielectric layer(151) is formed on the address electrode lines. Scan electrode lines(S1,...,Sn) are arranged to cross to the address electrode lines on the first dielectric layer to define respective cross areas as discharge cells. A second layer(152) is formed on the scan electrode lines. A fluorescent layer is formed on the second dielectric layer to be parallel to the address electrode lines. Y-common electrode lines(YCl,...YCn) and X-common electrode lines(XCl,..XCn) are arranged on a rear surface of the front substrate to be alternated on both sides of the respective scan lines.
