APPARATUS FOR SUPPRESSING TRANSIENT EFFECT OF OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER FOR WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to prevent deterioration of optical transmission quality caused due to a transient effect, by sensing the rapid change of channel count. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises an input sensing unit(100) for performing photoelectric conversion to the input optical signal and outputting the result; a transient effect suppressing unit(200) for holding the output from the input sensing unit for a predetermined time period, and outputting a pulse in proportional to the volume of change in channel count; a voltage generating unit(300) for comparing a preset reference voltage and the size of the pulse output from the transient effect suppressing unit, and outputting a trigger signal upon occurrence of change in channel count; a pump laser diode driving unit(400) for supplying driving voltage to a pump laser diode in response to the input from a pump command signal; and a controller(500) for outputting the pump command signal corresponding to the change in channel count in response to the input of the trigger signal.
