PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipette for a pipette device having a pipette and a squirt. SOLUTION: The pipette 1 has a jaw type chuck 16 which is arranged rotatably in association with a plunger receptacle 15 and regulatably at a plunger gripping member 13. A plunger head 8 of the squirt 2 is insertable by just slight contact with the jaw type chuck 16 when the jaw type chuck is held open. The jaw type chuck 16 is engageable with the plunger head 8 from a transverse direction after the insertion of the squirt 2. The engagement motion of the jaw type chuck 16 of the plunger head 8 is so controlled as to have a component of force substantially in a tangent direction in association with the surface of the plunger head.
