PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deal with a laser recorder having various type wavelengths without lowering image quality of a transferred image. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer sheet comprises a photothermal conversion layer containing an infrared absorption dye and an image forming layer sequentially provided on a support. In this case, an optical density of the conversion layer in a range of 750 to 900 nm is in a range of 0.3 to 2.0. The infrared absorption dye preferably contains an indolenin compound represented by formula I, wherein Z is an atomic group for forming a benzene ring, a naphthalene ring or an aromatic heterocycle, R1 and R2 are each an alkyl group, an alkenyl group or an aryl group, L is trivalent bond group, and X- is an anion. |
