PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymerizable composition giving a hardened material excellent in optical properties (a high transparency, high refractive index, high Abbe number), thermal properties, mechanical properties and having high productivity and useful for various optical parts. SOLUTION: This polymerizable composition using polymerizable compounds and a polymerization initiator as the essential components, includes a (meth) acrylate compound expressed by formula (I) and a (meth)acrylate compound having at least one hydroxyl in the molecule as the polymerizable compounds. (R1-R4 are each H, an alkyl, an alkoxy, nitro or a halogen, R5 is H or an alkyl, R6 is a substituent having a sulfur atom and R7 is H or methyl).
