PURPOSE: An air rocket for a scientific toy is provided to improve the convenience of launching by eliminating a troublesome air compression step, and to reduce the cost of production thereof. CONSTITUTION: The air rocket for the scientific toy includes a tubular rocket body(11), and a launch support tube(12) detachably fitted in the rocket body is provided with a PET(polyethylene terephthalate) container(16) containing alcohol, a connection tube(13), a spark plug installed in the connection tube to ignite the alcohol contained in the PET container, an igniter(20), a rocket mount(18) for supporting the launch support tube at a desired angle to determine the angle between the rocket body and the launch support tube, and a PET container mount(19) for supporting the PET container at a desired angle. One end of the connection tube is connected to a lower end of the launch support tube, and the other end of the connection tube is connected to a discharge opening of the PET container, thereby the expansive force of the PET container is transmitted to the rocket body.
