<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture data processor and its processing method, by which the deterioration of an original picture is reduced when picture data where additional information is superimposed as electronic transparent information is compressed and encoded. SOLUTION: Additional information data being electronic transparent information is superimposed on the free area of an area for storing original picture sub-block data which is encoded by division (step S312). In this case, the code amount of additional information data is calculated (step S304), a quantizing coefficient is adjusted to secure the free area for its arrangement and original picture sub-block data is encoded by compression (step S307 or S311). Then deterioration in picture quality owing to the superimposition of additional information data is prevented when encoded picture data is decoded and reproduced.</p> |
