IMAGE CAPTURE DEVICE AND METHOD OF POSITIONING DOCUMENT AT IMAGE CAPTURE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device able to accurately position a document on a scanning platen before scanning or copying the document. SOLUTION: The device has the platen for receiving document having a front part image carrying side and a rear side on the same extended line as the front part side. An image capture element is disposed under the platen, in order to capture the image on the front part image carrying side. A scale forming device in a mirror is provided on the platen for obtaining the scale in the mirror. Thus, the positioning of the document is helped when a positioning cover is placed on the document. A second cover is placed on the positioning cover. The second cover is substantially opaque and is used when the image at the front part image carrying side is irradiated for capturing the image.
