PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably, effectively and partially removing and modifying a concrete structure having hollow cross section. SOLUTION: The method for modifying the concrete structure (tunnel T) having hollow cross sections includes the following processes: (1) A support member installing process wherein guard slabs 10 and 20 in which open groove sections 14a, 14b, 24a and 24b for threading a wire saw W therein are formed are installed from the hollow section side of an upper floor slob 5 such that the whole of the lower face of a cutting and removing section 5A in the upper floor slob 5. (2) A cutting and removing process wherein after threading the wire saw in the open groove sections formed in the guard slobs and turning the wire saw around the cutting and removing section, the wire saws is circulated and a part of the upper floor slob is cut and removed. (3) A concrete structure building method wherein after smoothening the open groove sections, concrete is placed on the smoothened open groove sections using the guard slob as a mold form to build a concrete structure of a desired shape.
