PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that operation by a viewer is complicated with the increase of channels with the result that some people cannot register a channel due to the complicated operation though there is a function for registering a frequently viewing channel. SOLUTION: This receiver is provided with a tuner for receiving and reproducing broadcasting, a display device for displaying reproduced video or a list of channels for tuning, a speaker for outputting reproduced sound, and a tuning means for presenting a program table for selecting a program for tuning. The receiver is also provided with a viewing history recording means for recording the channel, a viewing starting time, etc., a timing means for keeping a record in the case of viewing longer than a fixed time, a database preparing means for preparing the database of frequently viewing programs, genres, time, etc., from a viewing history, a program table preparing means for preparing a program table for preferentially presenting the frequently viewing genres, programs, etc., based on the database, and an automatic tuning means for presenting an optimal program by retrieving the database at the time of supplying power.
