摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that not only paths which are branched and inserted, but also a path which pass through a faulty node become nontransmissible if both systems of a cross-connect part and a clock part in a device are broken down. SOLUTION: This transmission device has a device monitor part which detects a fault in the device and a switching control part which controls transmission line switching. When a device monitor part detects such a both-system fault of the cross-connect part and clock part that a passing path becomes nontransmissible, the path passing through the node is remedied by isolating this device by outputting the same K-byte with the detection of an SF fault to all fibers inputted to this device, executing an FS-R command for both the sides, inserting Line-AIS into all transmission lines for output, or ceasing the output.
