PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighter provided with a battery and a lamp that can be used also for illumination without snapping it into flame. SOLUTION: This lighter is equipped with a lamp 19, a battery 20 for supplying power thereto, a battery cover 21 which covers the battery, and energizes the lamp in accordance with a press on its surface with a user's finger, a tank 2 for lighter fuel, and outer case 1 for housing the tank 2, a support frame 26 projecting from the exterior surface of the case 1 for supporting the lamp and the battery cover. The lamp is provided with two lead wires 29, 30 for carrying current, a battery 20 is of a button type having the surface and the rear respectively with positive and negative poles, and the battery is held under a lead wire 29 in the space between the two lead wires. The surface and the rear of the battery are faced each to the lead wires. The outer case 1 has an opening 27 formed on its side and connected to the top opening. The support frame 26 is formed along the edge of the opening 27. The battery cover 21 is fit to the support frame 26 by dovetail joints.
