1,104,066. Removing live rounds from guns. BOFORS A.B. 23 July, 1965 [14 Aug., 1964], No. 31588/65. Heading F3C. An automatic gun comprises a barrel 1 having a breech ring 2 attached thereto, the breech block 7 being slidable transversely of and within the breech ring. The breech block 7 is normally actuated by levers 8 of sleeve 11 which sleeve is splined to a spring-loaded shaft 12 rotatable by the relative movement between the recoiling barrel and breech ring and the breech casing. The gun is further provided with a loading tray 4. A device for facilitating the removal of a live round 3 from the loading chamber of the gun comprises a manually actuatable gear-wheel 22 which, through a gear arc 21, a rear cocking lever 19, a link rod 18 and a forward cocking lever 16, pivots the shaft 12 to slide the breech block to its breech open position. The cooking lever 16 coacts with a lug on the cover 15 of the spring- loading device of the shaft 12, the cover being attached to the shaft. The link 18 is provided with a lug 31 which, on actuation of the link 18, co-operates with a lever 30 to pivot a shaft 29 and bring a guide plate 27 into a position between the loading chamber and the loading tray such that, when the barrel 1 is elevated a live round in the loading chamber slides under its own weight on to the guide plate 27 and thence on to the loading tray 4. |
