PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an excellent transmission gear ratio response by restraining influence exerted on transmission gear ratio servo performance by erroneous estimation even when erroneously estimating a control object time constant. SOLUTION: This transmission gear ratio control system controls a continuously variable transmission 4 on the bases of a time constant Tp for showing a dynamic characteristic of the continuously variable transmission 4 estimated so that the actual transmission gear ratio approaches the arrival transmission gear ratio decided according to an operation condition with a prescribed shift characteristic, and influence of disturbance imparted to the continuously variable transmission 4 is removed in a disturbance compensator B33 composed of a low-pass filter using approximate zeroing. The shift direction is erroneously judged at shift direction changing time, so that there is the possibility of erroneously estimating the time constant Tp for showing the dynamic characteristic of the continuously variable transmission 4, and a time constant of the low-pass filter is set so as to become small in a fluctuation in the ratio to the time constant Tp for showing the dynamic characteristic of the continuously variable transmission 4 to restrain the performance of excessive compensation of the disturbance compensator B33 by receiving erroneous estimation as well as to reduce influence exerted on the transmission gear ratio servo performance.
