PURPOSE: A method for selling a gift certificate using an electronic mail address is provided to buy or deliver a gift certificate and to select a predetermined commodity without visiting to a commodity selling store for buying a gift certificate. CONSTITUTION: A consumer connects to a server of a service provider and inputs personal information including an E-mail address and applies to a member joining(S1). The service provider issues a member ID to the consumer(S2). If the consumer connects to the server of a service provider and inputs the ID(S3), the service provider confirms the ID(S4). If the ID is normal, the service provider provides information to the consumer for the consumer to confirm kinds of gift certificates capable of being sold(S5). If the consumer selects a kind of a gift certificate(S6), the service provider requests an input of an E-mail address of the consumer(S7). Also, the service provider displays paying methods of the corresponding commodity for the consumer to select a paying method(S8). A bank inquires a consumer's credit card and notifies the result to the service provider(S9). If the result is normal(S10), the service provider requests an issuing number of a gift certificate to a seller(S11). The service provider notifies the issuing number of a gift certificate to the consumer's E-mail address(S12).
