An infant's article such as a dummy, teething ring, doll, or toy is made of a rubber latex material into which is absorbed an exemplified flavouring material. The article may be formed from a pre-vulcanized latex by known dipping, heat sensitization, or casting procedures, the article then being soaked in a solution of a flavouring material and dried. Alternatively, an unvulcanized latex is used to form the article which is then vulcanized and soaked in the flavouring solution. Either of these methods may be modified by adding the flavouring to the latex before the forming operation. The articles produced by these methods may be soaked in a chlorine solution to remove any tackiness and may be coloured to correspond to the particular flavouring. |
