The vibration damping unit has at least one coupling extension(86) provided on the vibration damper carrier and attached to the deflection weight carrier(22) in a circumferential region between two consecutive deflection weights(28) in the circumferential direction. The coupling extension in the radial direction is overlapped at least in areas by the two deflection weights adjoining it in the circumferential direction. A relieved section(102,104) is provided on the circumferential end section of the weights adjacent to each coupling extension.
