PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stirring apparatus which enables the uniform mixing which is small in dispersion of slurry concentration by making the entire liquid one circulating stream without causing the liquid in a stirring vessel a partial flow and keeps the said flow pattern even when the height of liquid surface changes, in the stirring apparatus which is used for slurry mixing, etc. SOLUTION: This stirring apparatus is such a type one that the stirring is performed by vertically disposing a rotation shaft having a stirring vane in the stirring vessel. Therein, a flow vane 3 of main shaft having a prescribed outer diameter, a flow vane 4 of trailing shaft having a prescribed outer diameter and a paddle vane 5 having a prescribed diameter successively fitted and fixed on the rotation shaft 2 in such a manner that the flow pattern in stirred liquid forms one circulating stream by a downward flow of the central part of the stirring vessel 6 and an upward flow along the inner wall surface of the stirring vessel 6.
