PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy member having sufficient mechanical strength, wear resistance, etc., and having excellent mechanical workability and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: Eutectic silicon grains 21 are exposed in at least part of the exposed surface of an aluminum alloy member formed by casting using an aluminum-silicon alloy as material and further, a coating layer 41 approximately equal in film thickness to the grain size of the eutectic silicon grains 21 or thinner than the same is formed on the exposed surface of the eutectic silicon grains 21. |
