PURPOSE: To easily change transmission paths when a target device makes connection on a bus insure a transmission path in order to transmit stream data in a network such as an IEEE 1394 system. CONSTITUTION: When an output device or another device sends a command setting the data inputting part 2b of an input device 2 so as to be able to input the output data of the output device 1 in the case the input device 2 receives steam data outputted from the output device connected to a prescribed network, the device 2 performs input setting based on the command, and also performs processing that releases the input setting when the device transmitting the command transmits a command canceling the input setting.
