PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for collecting information and controlling a timer through a management instance in a network management system is provided to offer network resource information according to a time interval requested through information obtained by managing an object-management object instance by composing a resident management object instance for collecting information on an object-oriented interface. CONSTITUTION: An object-manager control unit requests an object-management object instance(1-K) generation for collecting information of a network resource to a management object processing unit(301). The management object processing unit generates one object-management object instance to one network resource(302) and sets a time at a minimum interval period by an instance(303). The object-management instance identifies whether the set period is reached(304). If the set period is reached, the object-management instance collects information according to a minimum interval in a network resource(305), stores collection information in a storing space(306).
