PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illuminating device which can emit collimated light with high directivity and to provide a liquid crystal display device which uses the illumination device. SOLUTION: The illuminating device is equipped with a light source, a housing to house the light source the inner wall of which is covered with a diffusion reflection layer, an optical collimator which collimates the light emitted from the light source and reflected on the diffusion reflection layer to produce a collimated light, and a directivity control member to control the directivity of the collimated light emitted from the optical collimator. |
