PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium in which warpage of the medium caused by changes in the environmental temperature can be decreased. SOLUTION: The magneto-optical recording medium 100 has a laminated body 10 on one face of a substrate 1 and has a warpage preventing film 9 on the other face. At least, one of the structural material or the film thickness of the warpage preventing film 9 is decided in such a manner that the product of the Young's modulus and the film thickness of the warpage preventing film 9 is almost equal to the total sum of the products of the Young's modulus and the film thickness of the respective layers 2 to 8 which constitute the laminated body 10. Thus, the stress added to the medium is balanced on both sides of the substrate 1 by a bi-metal effect and the warpage of the disk caused by changes in the environmental temperature is significantly decreased. This method is extremely suitable for an optical recording medium which uses a thin substrate having low rigidity. |
