PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of firmly welding a neck and a stem in a short time, while reducing the temperature rise of a cathode without contaminating the heating part. SOLUTION: A light-shielding plate 17 for shielding the irradiated infraredray is installed at a position, where the temperature rise caused by the irradiation of infrared ray should be prevented, and the infrared ray is irradiated only on a welding part over its entire circumference, while axially rotating a neck 11 and a stem 12 for heating and softening the glass to weld it.
