PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault information storage system by which the unauthorized use of fault information by a third person is prevented by encrypting the fault information of a device and writing it in a nonvolatile memory when a fault is generated and the fault information is efficiently used for analyzing a cause of the fault. SOLUTION: In this fault information storage system to store values held by the device, values of data and program areas under processing on a memory (RAM) in the nonvolatile memory as the fault information when the fault is detected by the device, the fault information is encrypted and saved by encrypting the fault information with a public key preset in a ROM of the device by using a public key encryption system, writing the encrypted fault information in the memory (RAM), decoding and analyzing it by a secret key held by an external terminal. |
