<p>High refractive index glasses comprise (in weight %) 20 - less than 27 SiO2, 5 - 11 B2O3, 2 - 8 Li2O, 0 - 5 Na2O, 0 - 5 K2O, 7 - 25 BaO, 0 - 11 CaO, 7 - 12 La2O3, 7 - 20 PbO, 7 - 14 TiO2, 0 - 5 ZrO2, greater than 8 - 16 Nb2O5, Li2O + Na2O + K2O greater than 6, BaO + CaO + La2O3 greater than 27, and TiO2 + Nb2O3 + PbO greater than 29. The glasses have refractive indices of between 1.78 and 1.83. Independent claims are included for utilization of these glasses for the production of segments for multi-focal correctives lenses and the lenses themselves.</p> |
