PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor excellent in gas permeability, heat resistance and the like, in a gas sensor functioned by introducing the atmospheric air from its outside. SOLUTION: In an oxygen sensor 1, a vent hole 41 is brought into close contsct with a water-repellent filter 50 by caulking an outer cylinder 13 in a position of the vent hole 41, and the filter 50 is pushed from its inside onto the outer cylinder 13 by elastic force of a seal member. The tightness of the filter 50 onto the cylinder 13 is secured thereby to hold its sealability sufficiently. Since plural vent routes for the outside air are formed by plural vent grooves provided in an outer circumferentail face of a first seal member 16, a large ventilation volume is secured and ventilation is compensated, even when one of the routes is plugged with deposite of dust, oily matter and the like, by the other plural vent routes. Reliability for the ventilation is secured thereby, and the precision of the gas sensor is kept favorably as a result thereof. |
