PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas recirculation control device having quick response speed, and preventing a valve element from adhering by deposits. SOLUTION: This exhaust gas recirculation control device is provided with a housing 1 having a gas passage 2 inside thereof, a butterfly valve 4 arranged in the gas passage 2 of the housing 1, and rotary solenoid 10 arranged on a valve shaft 5 of the butterfly valve 4 by directly uniting a rotor 11 thereof. The butterfly valve 4 is responsively driven to open and close by the rotary solenoid 10. When the rotary solenoid 10 is not energized, a valve element 6 of the butterfly valve 4 is opened by a specified opening from a fully closed position and stopped. Therefore, the sedimentation of deposits to an edge portion of the valve element is reduced, and the valve element is prevented from adhering due to the deposits.
