PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of removing offset toner on the surface of a fixation body and a pressure body after a fixation processing, and capable of continuously performing a fixation processing without soiling a separation pawl and a member for a thermistor, etc., which are abutted on or nearer to the surface of the fixation body or the pressure body, and capable of obtaining a good image free from a defective image and soiling on the rear side, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with the fixing device. SOLUTION: The fixing device is provided with a cleaning unit 77 for cleaning the surface of the fixing roller 71 by abutting thereon 71. The cleaning unit 77 is constituted so that the toner on the surface of the fixing roller 71 can be removed after a transfer material carried with an unfixed image, which consists of toner containing wax at its inner part, passes through between the fixing roller 71 and the pressure roller 72.
