<p>The present invention relates to a rug for animals having four legs, especially horses, which rug is provided with a gusset, eventually forming a pleat (10). An elastic element (11) is arranged in said gusset/pleat (10). The elastic element (11) allowing the edges (12) of the gusset/pleat (10), essentially extending in the same direction as the gusset/pleat (10), to be brought together by means of the non-locking force in the elastic element (11), and that the elastic element allows the gusset/pleat (10) to be expanded.
