The non-ferrous metal smelting furnace has lance (1) with the free end seated in an opening (2) in the furnace. The lance has multiple ducts (7) for the fuel surrounded for a part of their length by a sleeve defining a channel (11) for oxidant and fixed to a flange (12). An envelope (13) surrounds at least part of the end of the lance to be lodged in the opening and define a channel for a second oxidant between it and the opening wall. The envelope is fixed to a flange (14) for mounting to the opening.
