This invention relates to a discrete, resilient anchoring means (2) and to a construction assembly for joining a decorative panel to a rail which includes (a) a solid panel, (b) a hollow rail housing of modified U-shape configuration having a continuous top wall, an outer side wall depending from each end of the top wall, a shortened bottom wall extending inwardly from each end of each outer side wall and positioned on a plane parallel with the top wall and a shortened inner side wall positioned parallel with the outer side wall and located at each end of each bottom wall and extending vertically inside the rail housing at a distance below the top wall and (c) a discrete, resilient anchor means (2) capable of insertion into the interstice of the hollow housing and generally having W configuration which is modified to form a series of undulations comprising a center loop (3) having an enlarged expansion area (4) at its top portion and at least one shorter, oppositely facing side loop (5,6) at each side of the center loop (3). |
