PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the difficulties in opening and closing the door when a dish washer is installed on the side of a sink with the open-close door facing the sink, such as the case that a faucet or a cupboard may hamper the door movement or the dishes cannot be smoothly put in and taken out otherwise. SOLUTION: In this dish washer 1, a washing room 3 is short in length from back to forth and long from side to side, and a front part 31 is given a tilt having an opening hole 30 and a open-close door 5. The open-close door 5 consists of an upper door 16 supported by the rotary top joint and a lower door 17 supported by the rotary bottom joint. The front half of a dish basket 4 can be drawn forward form the washing room 3 and placed on the back of the lower door 17. The dish basket can be smoothly moved back and forth because three rollers 29 have been installed on each side. Since the lower door 17 opens before the upper door 16, there are no worries of getting the surroundings wet. Also since the opening movement of the open-close door 5 does not cause the washing operation to stop simultaneously, there are no worries of splashing water around it.
