PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for gelled acid hair dye that excels in the adhesion and familiarity to the hair of dye, and in usability without of dripping liquid to the head skin and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The composition for gelled acid hair dye characterized by containing a carboxyvinlypolmer and one or more kinds of surface-active agents, which are seven or more HLB(s), and the method of manufacturing the composition characterized in that surface-active agent and a PH control agent are mixed, into water at the first step, and then an aqueous suspension is prepared by mixing the carboxyvinlypolmer, and at the second step, mixing alcohols are mixed with this aqueous suspension, are provided.
