PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel having a function widely performing the control of braking power in a double bearing reel provided with a centrifugal brake. SOLUTION: The spool 6 of the double bearing reel is provided with a brake case 21, and a case cover is set outside the brake case in a freely rotatable manner; installation parts 28 are placed, and brake shoes 23 are placed inside; a spring 33 is placed on a touching shaft 23d of the brake shoe to energize the shaft toward the center; the front end of the brake shoe can come out or in from the outer periphery of the brake case 21; protruding sides of the touching shafts 23d are freed at through parts c1 to c8, and on the other hand the protruding sides of the touching shafts of the rest of the brake shoes are closed by the outer periphery 21b of the case cover; and, the stopping position is changed by rotating the case cover, and the front end of the touching shaft of each brake shoe is freed or closed, and thus the number of the touching shafts protruding from the outer periphery of the case cover is changed by the rotation of the spool.
