PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a rate of operation of a printer and to respond to a request from a system by the small number of printers by a method wherein printing jobs are managed by a queue in the printer to use a plurality of discharge outlets by switching between them by monitoring conditions of the plurality of discharge outlets. SOLUTION: The printer 1 comprises an operating section 2 for managing the execution of the printing jobs and a printing section 3 for printing on a paper sheet, monitoring the conditions of the discharge outlets for the paper sheet and switching the discharge outlets. The operating section 2 includes a printing job registering section 21 for registering the printing job to the queue, a selecting section 22 for fetching the next printing job and a control section 23 for outputting output data to the printing section 3. The printing section 3 includes a discharge outlet condition detecting section 31 for monitoring whether the discharge outlet of the paper is in a full condition or in an empty condition, the discharge outlets 34, 35, 36, a print executing section 32 for printing the output data and a discharge outlet designating section 33 for switching between the discharge holes to choose one designated by the printing job.
