PURPOSE: An automatic opening and shutting system for an emergency exit and a method thereof are provided to automatically open and shut the emergency exit with spare power in case of a fire. CONSTITUTION: An automatic opening and shutting system for an emergency exit comprises a disaster and fire signal receiving device, an emergency bell induction device, an emergency exit automatic opening and shutting controller, an electric opening and shutting device, a battery, a battery checking lamp, an emergency indicator and an emergency switch. Then, the system decides if the disaster and fire signal receiving device receives a signal from a transmitter or a fire sensor. When the disaster and the fire signal receiving device receives the signal, the emergency bell induction device manually operates the system or outputs a cause generating signal. With the cause generating signal, the system generates a control signal from the emergency exit automatic opening and shutting controller and opens or shuts the emergency exit by the electric opening and shutting device.
