ATTENUATION FACTOR CORRECTING METHOD AND SPECTROPHOTOMETER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attenuation factor correcting method and a spectrophotometer capable of accurately and readily taking measurements using a light reducing plate. SOLUTION: Light beams from light sources W1 and D2 are spectrally diffracted by spectroscopes MO1 and MO2 to branch into a sample light beam and a reference light beam, which are then detected by a light detector PMT. When determining the transmission factor of a sample from a sample signal and a reference signal detected by the light detector PMT, a data processing portion DP determines and stores an attenuation factor for a predetermined wavelength of the light reducing plate inserted in a reference optical path, and corrects the measurements of the sample by use of the attenuation factor stored.
