FRINGED SELVAGE CUTTING ERROR DETECTOR IN SHUTTLELESS LOOM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the cutting error of weft end portions to prevent woven fabric quality deterioration caused by winding up the woven fabric having a long fringed selvage. SOLUTION: This fringed selvage cutting error detector is provided with a detector for detecting the existence of a longer fringed selvage than a prescribed length on the woven fabric-winding side of the cutting area of a cutter disposed at a place near to a fabric fell in the neighborhood of the end portion of the woven fabric on the downstream side of the picking direction. When the cutting error of weft ends is generated, a longer fringed selvage than a fringed selvage having normally cut weft ends is left in the woven fabric. The long fringed selvage is detected with the detector, thereby detecting the generation of the cutting error of the weft end portion.
