PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an information recording medium with decreased errors and excellent floating characteristics of a heat at a good yield. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the information recording medium including a cleaning stage for a disk substrate or disk and a washing stage after the cleaning consists in executing washing in the washing stage by bringing a scrubber rotated at the number of revolutions of 1,000 to 5,000 rpm in such a manner that its traveling direction of the disk surface is relatively reverse from the traveling direction of the disk surface into contact with the disk surface while rotating the disk after the cleaning.
