PURPOSE: Methods for storing and informing the initial use data of a printer is provided to easily grasp the term of guarantee in an after-sales service by storing the date initially using the printer. CONSTITUTION: A method for storing the initial use data of a printer includes the steps of searching whether the printer is initially used, storing the initial use data in a storing part(106) of the printer if so. A method for guiding the initial use data of the printer includes the steps of providing data stored in the storing part having a first area for storing information related to initial use data storage in installing a printer driver, and a second area for recording information related to initial use date to a host, searching whether the initial use date is stored by referring to information stored in the first area, providing information related to current year, month, and day to the printer if not stored, storing the current date information as information related to the initial use date in the second area and storing information representing the storage of the initial state in the first area, and outputting information stored in the storing part according to a user.
