A motor vehicle headlight has a light source linked to optical devices, so that a stable, fanned out pencil of rays is generated to complement a dipped beam pencil of rays generated by another headlight or to generate another pencil of rays such as fog lights with specific, upper light-dark limits (C1,C2).
